Great ORS meeting

We have all returned from an outstanding annual meeting of the Orthopaedic Research Society in San Diego.  First author abstracts from our gr0up included the following:

Collagen XI Mutation In Mice Results In Thinner, Less Dense Cortical Bone And Lower Susceptibility To Load-induced Cartilage Damage. Derek Holyoak, Miguel Otero, Naa Shidaa Armar, Timothy Wright, Steven Goldring, Mary Goldring, Marjolein van der Meulen

Diet-induced Obesity Increases Cartilage Damage But Does Not Exacerbate Load-induced Osteoarthritis. Sophia Ziemian, Jason D. Guss, Marysol Luna, Gabriel Guisado, Steven R. Goldring, Marjolein C. van der Meulen, Christopher J. Hernandez

Female Mice Lacking Estrogen Receptor Alpha In Mature Osteoblasts Have An Increased Transcriptional Response To Mechanical Loading In Cancellous But Not Cortical Bone. Natalie H. Kelly, John C. Schimenti, F Patrick Ross, Marjolein C.H. Van der Meulen

Role of Subchondral Bone Properties and Remodeling in Load-Induced Osteoarthritis in Mice. Olufunmilayo Adebayo, Frank Ko, Philip Wan, Steven Goldring, Mary Goldring, Timothy Wright, Marjolein Van der Meulen

Gender-dependent Effects of ERα Deletion from Mature Osteoblasts on Bone Adaptation in Adult Mice. Amanda M. Rooney, Olufunmilayo O. Adebayo, Natalie H. Kelly, John C. Schimenti, F Patrick Ross, Marjolein CH Van der Meulen

Seeing successful lab alumni was also wonderful, including Chris, Eve, Jacque, Russ, Kirsten & Alison.  Marjolein served as the poster chair for this year’s meeting, and will be the program chair for the 2018 annual meeting in New Orleans.
